Join Our Team and Lead the Way
Are you ready to take the next step in your civils career? We’re looking for a proactive and safety‑focused Ganger to lead a small team delivering essential civils work across the drainage network. In this role, you will take ownership of daily site activities carrying out excavations, manhole rebuilds, repairs, and installations, while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will be responsible for conducting daily risk assessments, coordinating site operations, overseeing plant and materials requests, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring vehicles and equipment are used correctly and safely. This is a hands‑on leadership role where no two days are the same and where your skills will make a real impact.
You will be predominantly based at our sites in Weatherless and Ham Hill.

Cappagh Browne Utilities Ltd is a special purpose joint venture established to deliver wastewater network maintenance and repair services for Southern Water across the South of England. We focus on keeping sewer networks operating efficiently through planned maintenance, emergency response and rehabilitation works. Our capability is underpinned by a substantial fleet of specialist vehicles including vacuum tankers, jetting units and CCTV survey equipment, supported by advanced technology for rapid diagnostics and effective solutions. With a reputation for safety, reliability and technical expertise, Cappagh Browne plays a critical role in protecting communities and maintaining essential infrastructure.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who brings both technical ability and strong leadership qualities. The ideal candidate will have:
Experience & Knowledge
- Groundworks or utilities experience in a civils environment
- Familiarity with industry tools, plant and machinery
- Understanding of health & safety and safe site practices
Skills & Behaviours
- Strong communication and team‑leadership abilities
- Ability to follow instructions and make sound, safe decisions on site
- Reliable, self‑motivated, and able to work independently
- Physically capable of undertaking manual tasks
Qualifications
- Full clean driving licence
- NRSWA (Streetworks)
- Cat & Genny training
